Server /Kolgrath is a world on the Towncraft Family Friendly Minecraft Server that is my personal playground Survival world. I describe the playstyle as “hard difficulty survival with many quality of life plugins.”
The overall theme of the world is “old school Towncraft vibes”. Here I’ve brought together some of my favorite parts of Towncraft over the years. Specifically 2012-2018. You can see some of that mash-up at /warp history
You are welcome to join me and play to your heart’s content. As we are part of the Towncraft network, you will need to follow Towncraft’s family friendly rules. Basically that means don’t grief other players, don’t swear on the server, and be kind when you interact with others.
Protect yourself against grief and theft
The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to make sure you claim your builds. We use GriefPrevention, a plugin that lets you protect your plot using a gold shovel and available claim blocks. The more you play /Kolgrath the more blocks you’ll earn. You can expand your plot (or claim additional plots) as your claim blocks allow. The magic happens with a gold shovel.
Once you’ve claimed your build, you can manage who has access to it with a few commands.
To see all of your claims, do /claimslist
While standing inside of a claim, you can do the following commands:
/trustlist – see everyone you’ve trusted in that claim
/trust playername – give someone the ability to build, open chests, and use doors and buttons and other interactive items. Only use this if you truly trust the player.
/containertrust playername – give someone the ability to access chests, and open doors, and interact with buttons, etc. One level down from /trust. Players with container trust cannot build.
/accesstrust playername – Lowest level of trust. Can’t build, can’t use chests, but they can use doors, press buttons, and interact with other items.
/permissiontrust playername – Gives a player the ability to trust other players on your claim. Be very careful with this! An example of how I’ve used it in the past is when I hired a player to manage the Kolbucks Cafe. This gave them the ability to hire other players and give them access to the kitchen without needed me to do the commands.
When you no longer want to keep a claim, you can abandon claims by standing inside of them and using the command /abandonclaim
This will give you back all of the claim blocks for that claim and you can use them somewhere else.
Get a job!
We have an economy and we call our server currency “Kolbucks”. Well, you can call it whatever you want. That’s what we used to call it and I still call it that out of habit. Just know that it’s not real money, it’s for playing on /Kolgrath only. So don’t expect to cash out for a big check!
To get a job, you’ll want to use /jobs browse.
On /Kolgrath you aren’t limited in how many jobs you can have. Take them all! Earn that money!
Keep your belongs safe… and conveniently available!
We use personal vaults! It’s like having 64 ender chests at your disposal! To access them type /pv. The GUI will open and you can select any vault you like. You can change the icons of the vaults by shift-clicking on them.
Free food if you’re willing to work for it!
We have a community farm available at /warp farm. Take whatever you need from the chests (and leave something if you want to help others, but you don’t have to.) You are also welcome to harvest whatever you want, the only rule is you need to replant whatever you take.
Buy and Sell goods on the player market!
If you do /market, you’ll find goods being sold by other players on the server. If you’d like to sell items as well, hold the item you want to sell and use the command /offer <amount>
The price you set is for the entire stack of what you’re holding. So if you’re holding 32 diamonds in your hand and use the command /offer 3200, that will list a stack of 32 diamonds for a total price of $3200.
Remember to go back to /market to view your current offers you’ve listed and to claim any money you’ve earned from selling!
Who is the richest of them all?
Curious to see who has amassed the most wealth on /Kolgrath? Use the command /baltop to see who is the richest. Maybe you can try selling them a fancy new build?
mcMMO – Fancy Skills for the Sophisticated Minecrafter
On /Kolgrath we have the mcMMO plugin. This is an RPG add on that lets you earn levels in various Minecrafting skills. Swords, axes, mining, digging, fishing, taming, etc. You also get access to perks, like double drops, ability to repair equipment without using xp and with less materials. Or the abilty to salvage tools and armor for their materials and sometimes get books with their enchantments. Another example is the ability to fish up better treasures! Sometimes you’ll find treasure from digging or breaking grass with your sword! There’s so many fun possibilities!
